Introduction
My name is Jessica Webb. I am currently enrolled in the Education Specialist Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University. In Summer 2013, I began the program and will graduate this semester, Summer 2014. I graduated from Augusta State University in 2003 with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood education. Immediately after graduation, I began teaching 2nd grade in Brooks County at Quitman Elementary School in Quitman, Georgia. In 2007, I graduated from Valdosta State University with my Master's Degree in Reading Education. After teaching for five years at Quitman Elementary, I transferred to the Colquitt County School System to teach at Sunset Elementary School in Moultrie, Georgia. I've been teaching there for the last six years and currently teach 3rd grade.
Kennesaw State has a pristine reputation in instructional technology. This is what led me to enroll in the Specialist Degree program in the Department of Instructional Technology. I felt the knowledge and skills I would gain from this program is something I could implement in my classroom to design and deliver more authentic and engaging learning opportunities for my students on a daily basis. In the future, this degree will also be beneficial for me to achieve my long term goal of becoming an Instructional Coach for my school system.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. At the top of this page you will find a series of links below the KSU logo that you can visit. Of particular importance is the standards link. Under this link, you will find
a series of artifacts and reflections documenting the important work I have completed during this program. Each artifact represents mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
I have truly enjoyed my experience at Kennesaw State University. As a result of this program, I am well-prepared to integrate technology into my classroom, assist other educators in using technology to enhance their instruction, provide quality professional learning opportunities, and work with others to help analyze data to lead our school in the right direction for academic growth.
