Artifact: Action/Evaluation Plan- ITEC 7410
Reflection:
The artifact that best represents standard 1.3 is the Action/Evaluation Plan that was created for ITEC 7410. This artifact was created as a result of the findings in the SWOT analysis for Sunset Elementary School. By analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the technology-strategic plans, the action/evaluation plan was create to increase technology integration.
This artifact demonstrates mastery of standard 1.3 because many strategies were researched and recommended to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school, district, state, and federal technology plans and guidelines. The strategies were chosen to address specific goals that were developed to addresses weaknesses found during the SWOT. Three goals were created along with a success indicator and evaluation method for each goal. For each goal, strategies were chosen to help achieve the goal. A timeline, funding source, and person responsible was also included. Each of these elements are important to help the school address areas of weakness found in the technology-strategic plans.
Completing this artifact was a very time consuming activity, but it was very beneficial in preparing me to be a technology leader in my school. I closely analyzed the strategic plans of my school, found the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats internally and externally. I used this information to help develop an action plan on how to improve our areas of weaknesses. First, it is imperative for the faculty and staff at Sunset to learn the NET-S. The strategies that I chose to add to the plan were researched and chosen very carefully to guarantee best practices of professional learning to ensure implementation of the NET-S throughout the school. To improve this activity, I believe it would be beneficial to receive input from the school leadership teams for internal and external threats. Since I am a third grade teacher, sometimes I am not aware of the threats and challenges other grade levels face.
The impact of this artifact affects professional learning. The strategies chosen for this plan will be shared with school administrators along with the SWOT. Hopefully the school will implement these strategies to address some of the weaknesses found in the strategic plans. The impact of the action/evaluation plan can be evaluated by surveying school administrators and the leadership team.
