Artifact: Internet Lesson Plan - ITEC 7430
Reflection:
One important component of the Internet Lesson Plan designed for ITEC 7430 was a troubleshooting sections for teachers to refer to if they experience any problems while implementing this lesson. This section includes easy to follow procedures to address commonly found problems others have experienced while implementing this lesson in a classroom setting.
This artifact best demonstrates standards 3.5 based on basic troubleshoot because it shares what teachers should do to solve commonly found problems when implementing this lesson. One example found in the lesson plan was a commonly found problem students had when completing this lesson was not being able to find pictures using Flickr due to the students misspelling the names, no results would appeared. In the lesson plan, it explains that changing the way you input the name in Flickr makes a difference in the results that appear. It is important for students to type in the names correctly or they may not be able to find information on the topic they were researching.
Completing the basic troubleshooting section of the Internet Lesson Plan was very helpful. I learned that it is important to include commonly found problems and how to solve them quickly when implementing new projects in my class especially if I am planning on sharing the resource with other teachers. This is a great resource for teachers to have when implementing the lesson plan on their own. This keeps them from getting discouraged or frustrated when trying to implement new tools in their classroom. If I could add something to make the troubleshooting component of the Internet Lesson Plan better, I would collect information tips and helpful information from the students to pass on to other students who may complete this lesson in the future. I believe it would be helpful and interesting to see what helpful tips students would pass on to other students.
This artifact helps improve professional development by providing a quick reference tools for teachers who experience problems while implementing the Internet Lesson Plan in their classroom. The impact of the basic troubleshooting resource could be assessed by teacher surveys.
